I occasionally have training in Chippenham. I usually live with four other people so it’s very different to suddenly be on my own in a hotel. However, it is nice to go out for nice meals in the evenings. I previously did a course in Basic Signalling Technology. Now I’m doing the following course in Intermediate Signalling Technology and I’ll be here for the next two weeks.
My boyfriend came over with me and is leaving on tomorrow morning for London. But we’ve had the evening together. Mouchack is my favourite Indian restaurant in Bath. It’s a bit of a walk up a hill. But it’s definitely worth it!!

From the outside, the restaurant doesn’t look that great. However, stepping inside, it’s actually a pretty classy place. Surprisingly, it’s always empty, maybe a few couples will arrive, but it’s never full. Today the food took a little while to arrive as there seemed to be a lot of takeaways. But normally, the service is quite prompt.
The Ma Goa Chicken was made with mango, quite sweet and with lots of spices. It wasn’t too spicy though. This was accompanied with coconut rice. It had a very rich, coconutty flavour and was completely finished!!

I also got the Bombay Aloo which was very tasty. It would have been nice to have a little extra sauce. But I really can’t complain. I had the Stuffed Paratha. This was crispy and stuffed with potatoes and other vegetables. Sometimes the Stuffed Parathas have too many extra vegetables in them. Here, they had just the right combination of potatoes with other vegetables. I also had Nagrani Meat (which is made with lamb). The lamb was very tender and it was a very spicy dish (as the waiter warned me). It was very good though!! It was accompanied with pilau rice which was nice, I may have preferred a few more spices. But, it was still good.
I had a Mango Lassi to drink. It’s very filling, so bear this in mind when ordering it. Some people may prefer a small glass. I haven’t really tried the desserts there. I’m sure they’re good though!! The service is very friendly. Sometimes, I can feel a bit uncomfortable eating on my own in a restaurant. But it’s just not a big deal in this restaurant and they know me now as I’ve been there several times. The food is freshly prepared and the portions are generous. The service is usually pretty prompt (today was an exception as they seemed to have loads of takeaway orders). They do also do takeaways and seem to have exactly the same takeaway menu as they do in the restaurant. The price is really good. For one hungry person, the bill can easily be kept within £20, including a lassi.
